Summer sunset reflected in calm water in the Bykhov region

Explores

Quiet places, changing weather, and the stories that reveal themselves when you return.

A slower way of looking

The places that reward a second look.

I photograph natural landscapes and overlooked corners, but the real subject is often time: weather passing, light changing, and ordinary details becoming familiar.

This journal begins in the Bykhov region, photographed across three summers with a phone, a pocket camera, and no reason to rush.

Field note 01 / Belarus

Three summers
by the water

The first time, I looked for a beautiful view. On later visits, I noticed the smaller shifts: the height of the grass, the shape of the clouds, the stillness before a storm.

Returning changes what you notice. The landmarks stay still, but your attention does not.

Weather into history

Blue hour
in Bykhov

A quiet evening became a storm walk. The road crossed dark water, then led toward the old castle complex and the Great Synagogue as the last daylight left the sky.

Places

One region,
many small stories

The first chapter stays close to Bykhov. Nearby villages and landscapes will become their own field notes as the archive grows.

A place becomes specific through the things around its edges.
